A STRANGE KIND OF KNOWING
Curated by Livy Punnett
Haarlem Gallery, Derbyshire & Arusha Gallery, London, 2022
A touring exhibition of new commissions and recent work exploring alternative and marginalised knowledge intrinsically linked with the natural world. These subjects seek a deep remembering to our pre-conditioned bodies, minds and internal landscapes. Emerging from the forced extended ‘winter’ of the global pandemic, and taking place in the winter season, A Strange Kind of Knowing investigates phenomena such as the moon, weather, rhythms, lost knowledge and civilisations; and the natural and psychological cycles of transformation. It allows space for interconnection and re-enchantment, valuing nuance and a more complicated appreciation of our natures.
